Man arrested on assault, drug charges in Presque Isle

PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — A Presque Isle man is facing multiple charges for alleged involvement in an assault that sent a woman to the hospital Tuesday morning.

Around 6:40 a.m. Tuesday, Presque Isle police responded to a report of an assault at a Park Street location. Police found a 34-year-old Presque Isle woman with “serious head trauma” who was transported to Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital in Presque Isle, according to a Presque Isle Police Department press release.

Police then executed a search warrant that led to the arrest of Thomas Pasquarelli of Presque Isle for aggravated assault, criminal threatening and unlawful possession of a schedule W drug, a class of illegal substances that includes heroin, cocaine, oxycodone, and methamphetamine.

Pasquarelli was taken to Aroostook County Jail with a $5,000 cash bail, according to police.

Maine State Police is assisting Presque Isle Police in the investigation, which is continuing, according to the press release.
