PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle High School girls and boys varsity basketball staffs will offer their 26th annual basketball clinic June 10-14 for any interested SAD 1 student.
All girls and boys presently in grades 2-7 for this 2018-2019 school year are welcome to attend. The one-week camp is open to experienced players as well as those with no basketball experience.
Girls varsity coach Jeff Hudson and boys varsity coach Terry Cummings will direct the camp. Staff will include coaches from PIHS, along with present and former players from the varsity teams.
To afford each age group more playing time, the camp will be divided into two sessions. Students in grades 2-4 will play in session one from 5 to 7 p.m., and those in grades 5-7 will occupy session two from 7 to 9 p.m.
Fundamentals in all phases of basketball will be stressed. There will be basketball drills, individual games and regular games. Emphasis will be on sportsmanship and having fun as participants learn the game of basketball.
Interested participants may preregister at the PIHS athletic office from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, or may register on June 10 up to 30 minutes before the camp begins.
Students may not participate without a signed permission form, which also serves as proof of insurance.
