To the editor:
The Towns of Mapleton, Castle Hill and Chapman would like to let the public know that we are behind schedule on opening our outdoor pool this year. We have scheduled the installation of a new liner for our pool, and the production of that liner is behind where we expected it to be.
We had planned months in advance so that we could be open on time and not disrupt any of our annual summer activities, but because of conditions beyond our control, the liner has not yet arrived. As far as a date when the pool will be opening, we do not yet know, but we are hoping that it is within the next two weeks.
In lieu of the swimming activities that our kids participate in every morning, our swim instructors will be hosting a variety of activities during the time slots that the kids would be in the pool, including land drills that aid in building swim skills.
In the afternoons, our lifeguards will also be hosting a variety of activities for kids to come participate in, free of charge, until the pool is ready to open. These activities will be different each day, and we will be posting them to our Facebook page for everyone to access.
We do want to apologize for any inconvenience this may cause for any of our families, and are prepared to offer refunds to those who request them.
For any questions, please feel free to contact us on our Mapleton Recreation Department Facebook page, or by calling our Rec Director at 764-3754.
Thank you for your support during this time.
