CARIBOU, Maine — Ten County schools participated in a 7-on-7 soccer tournament at Caribou High School Saturday, July 13.
Ethan Holdsworth scored in overtime, his second goal of the game, to lift the Caribou II team to a 2-1 victory over Presque Isle and capture the championship of the annual 7v7 High School Summer Soccer Tourney.
Ryllan Thibault tallied the only goal for Presque Isle.
The format consisted of pool play competition between the teams to determine seedings, followed by a knockout round to crown the champion. In addition to Caribou and Presque Isle, schools participating included Ashland, Central Aroostook, Fort Fairfield, Fort Kent, Hodgdon, Madawaska, Mattanawcook Academy, and Washburn.
Members of the winning Caribou II team were: Ethan Albair, Tiernan Barbosa, Carter Belanger, Jake Berkoski, Miles Collier, Dillon Dodd, Corey Herbert, Ethan Holdsworth, Hayden Hunter, and Cody Waldemarson.
Members of the runner-up Presque Isle team were Connor Albertson, Jacob Bonville, Malachi Cummings, Jack Hallett, Michael Langley, Xavier McAtee, Gavin Tawfall, and Ryllan Thibault,.
