To the Editor:
Senator Susan Collins has once again proven that she is working for the people of Maine by securing funding to fix the bridge that connects Madawaska to Edmunston, New Brunswick.
Recently there have been frequent closures and posted weight limits on the existing bridge that have forced many residents and businesses to drive up to 75 additional miles, adding nearly two hours to their trip.
Twin Rivers Paper Company, the largest employer in northern Maine, will now be able to send its large trucks through this modernized port of entry; saving Mainers their valuable money and time.
I consider myself blessed to know that my Senator works hard for her constituents and will continue to fight the battles to protect Maine businesses and preserve Maine’s special relationship with its neighbors to the north.
