SMALL SCHOOL CHAMPS — The Central Aroostook Junior High School cheerleaders were named Small School Champs following their competition on Thursday, Jan. 10, in Mars Hill. Pictured are, in front from the left: Lillie Mahan, Hunter Nicholson, Holly O’Leary, Kiley Eckstein and Chloe Wheeler. In back: Coach Angie Burtt, Taia Tilley, Michaela Pelletier, Sierra Shaw, Halee Rusby, Emilee Durost, Sarah Gerritsen and Alysha Decker. Halee received the individual 8th Grade Tumbling Award. The team also received the Team Stunts Award as well as the All Star Stunt Award.
The Washburn Elementary School cheerleaders participated in the 2013 Junior high Aroostook League Cheering Competition held Jan. 10 in Mars Hill. Members of the team include: Mallory Martin, Connor Bragg, Danielle Thompson, Marina Aubin, Mollie Clark, Carly Bragg, Kaylee Doak, Anecia Fuller, Emma Cyr, Makayla Shackett and Casey Bragg. Mallory received the individual 6th and 7th Jumps award and Connor received the individual 6th and 7th Tumbler award. Coached by Amy Sawyer, the team received the Spirit Award. Unidentified spotters assist the group.
The Presque Isle Middle School 6th- and 7th-grade cheerleaders participated in the 2013 Junior High Aroostook League Cheering Competition in Mars Hill on Jan. 10. Members of the team include: Jessica Boucher, Makayla Carmichael, Miranda Drost, Taylor Ellis, Allison Guerrette, Macye Kinney, Cierra Levasseur, Kiara Lyford, Kenyaly Quevedo, Sherralyn Robbins, Lisa Stiber and Allyssa Van Houton. Their coach is Emily Keaton. Two unidentified individuals assisted.
