HALLETT, Charles, Jr., 85, BRIDGEWATER, at Presque Isle, January 5, 2013. A graveside service with military honors will be conducted in the spring at Smith Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Mars Hill.

American Flag ColorBRIDGEWATER – Charles Hallett Jr., 85, passed away Sat., January 5, 2013, at a Presque Isle nursing home. He was born March 31, 1927, in Bridgewater, the son of Charles and Arvilla (Delong) Hallett Sr.
    Charles served his country in the aftermath of WWII while serving as an infantryman in the U.S. Army. He returned home to Bridgewater where he was a self-employed carpenter and painter for many years. He enjoyed working with wood as well as working around the yard. He was very proud of his family and protective of his grandchildren whom he loved very much.
    He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Hathorne) Hallett of Bridgewater; a son, Kevin Hallett and his wife, Sandy of Bridgewater; a daughter, Kathy Callahan and her husband, Richard of Deltona, FL; four grandchildren, Jared Callahan and his wife, Hannah, Caitlin Callahan, Jessica and Jennifer Hallett; and a great-grandchild, Charles Callahan. He also leaves behind two sisters, Arlene Kirkbride of Royalton, NB, Canada, and Florence MacDonald of Houlton; as well as many nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Ashley Hallett; and a sister, Natalie Finnemore.
