Youth ski league begins
The Quoggy Jo Ski Club held its first races of the season Jan. 6 and the results were as follows:
Girls 6 and under: first place, Violet Gregg. Girls 7-9: first, Callie Junkins; second, Libby Kinney. Boys 6 and under: first, Zachary Pelletier; second, Alex Duprey; boys 7-9: first, Oliver Graves; second, Ben Duprey; and third, Jackson Maynard; boys 10-12: first, Alec Staples; second, Connor Junkins; and third, Noah Flynn; boys 13-15: first, Aaron Swanson; second, Hunter Flynn.
Men’s basketball standings
The standings in the Caribou Men’s Basketball League through Jan. 10 are as follows:
Griffeth Ford (7-1), Loring Job Corps (6-2), Gagnon’s Studio (6-2), Spartans (6-3), Blvd. Graphix (4-3), Road Runners (2-5), AOE (2-7), Pipe Layers (3-7), Purple Cobras (2-8).
Rec program deadline soon
The Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department will be closing registration for its fifth- and sixth-grade basketball and fourth-, fifth- and sixth-grade cheerleading programs on Thursday, Jan. 17.
Come in to the William Haskell Community Center on Main Street to register for either activity before the 5 p.m. deadline.
