WASHBURN, Maine — Members of Salmon Brook Historical Society hosted their 7th annual Quilt Show and Tea on Sunday, Aug. 4.
Those attending enjoyed a variety of flavors of goodies and tea, while enjoying the colorful and skillfully crafted quilts and spending quality time with family, friends and neighbors.
All four sittings were sold out in advance of the show. The historical society thanked supporters who made the show possible by exhibiting quilts, baking, parking cars, washing dishes, helping to hang the show, loaning flowers and plants and making items for the craft sale.
Plans are already underway for next year’s Quilt Show and Tea.
The event also marked the unveiling of two unique exhibits at the historical society’s museums, which were on display through August Fest: vintage wedding attire dating from 1884 through 1978 and a display of 1940s aprons.
The two museums are open Wednesday mornings from 8 to 11 a.m. and Sunday afternoons from 1 to 4 p.m.
Raffle tickets on the Salmon Brook Historical Society raffle quilt will be sold until Wednesday, Sept. 4, when the winner will be drawn at the annual Harvest Bean Supper at the Trailrunners Snowmobile Club in Washburn. For more information contact Wanita at 863-398-0311 or Rita at 207-429-9359.
