CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou Police arrested Christopher Saunders, 31, of Caribou, who was wanted on numerous charges including “aggravated domestic violence assault,” on Aug. 21.
Charges against Saunders include domestic violence terrorizing, domestic violence criminal threatening, violation of a protection order, violation of conditional release, and tampering with a witness in addition to aggravated domestic violence assault.
Police initially requested the public’s help via social media in their search on Aug. 12, and as of Aug. 21, have updated their posting on Facebook with a statement thanking the public for assistance in locating Saunders.
In addition to his current charges, Saunders has an extensive criminal history which includes an aggravated assault conviction in 2013.
According to Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan, Saunders was located in Caribou and has since been transported to Aroostook County Jail and is being held without bail.
