HOULTON, Maine — The Maine State Police Troop F barracks in Houlton responded to a number of calls for service during the period of Aug. 26 to Sept. 2, including the following.
Monday, Aug. 26
MARS HILL: Tr. Levesque was on patrol in Mars Hill when he observed a male he believed had an active warrant. Tr. Levesque pulled over, ran the subject and confirmed he had an active warrant. Tr. Levesque turned around and located the male and arrested him on the warrant. During a search, Tr. Levesque discovered the male was in possession of methamphetamine. The male was transported to the jail where he was booked on the warrant and charged with possession of schedule W drugs.
PATTEN/STACYVILLE: A male called HRCC to advise that there was a male subject down near the river in town yelling and hitting himself. Tr. Cotton contacted the C1 and learned that he thought he knew the identity of the male and thought he was doing drugs. Tr. Cotton heard a male subject yelling near the river and spoke to him. The male stated that he was excited because he was having good luck fishing. Tr. Cotton told him he needed to be quiet because he was disrupting businesses in town. The male apologized and said that he would pack up and leave. A brief time later it was reported that this same male was outside of his residence yelling at himself, hitting himself and was naked in public view. Tr. Cotton arrived and arrested the male for disorderly conduct and transported him to Penobscot County Jail.
Thursday, Aug. 29
BRIDGEWATER: Cpl. Quint was conducting traffic enforcement in Bridgewater and stopped a vehicle for driving 95 mph in a posted 55-mph zone. The man told Cpl. Quint he did not realize he was driving so fast and was on his way to work. Cpl. Quint issued the man a criminal summons for the violation.
MONTICELLO: The theft of a motor vehicle was reported to Tr. Casavant. The vehicle was reported to be stolen from a residence in Monticello. The owner of the vehicle was in custody at the local jail and had been storing his vehicle at another person’s home. When the vehicle was found not to be at the residence, it was reported stolen by a third party. The investigation is ongoing.
Friday, Aug. 30
CASTLE HILL: Tr. Martin was conducting traffic enforcement in Castle Hill. He observed a vehicle committing a traffic infraction and conducted a stop. During the stop, he discovered the registration plates attached to the vehicle were illegally attached. Tr. Martin removed the plates and had the vehicle towed from the roadway. The driver was issued a criminal summons for the violation.
Saturday, Aug. 31
LITTLETON: Sgt. Clark was conducting traffic enforcement in Littleton and stopped a vehicle for a traffic infraction. During the stop, it was discovered the female driver had a suspended driver’s license and a suspended registration. The registration was suspended for evasion of tolls. Sgt. Clark issued the woman two criminal summons for the violations and had the vehicle towed from the roadway by York’s of Houlton Towing.
HODGDON: Tr. Kilcollins was conducting traffic enforcement in Hodgdon. He observed a vehicle speeding and displaying an expired inspection certificate. Tr. Kilcollins stopped the vehicle and during the stop suspected the underage driver had consumed liquor, test results confirmed this in the resulting investigation.
Sunday, Sept. 1
OAKFIELD: At approximately 1630 hours an off-duty fireman observed a red Ford Focus on its roof in the ditch on the River Road in Oakfield. The caller advised Houlton Dispatch that there was no one around the vehicle. Trooper Cotton investigated the crash and determined that the operator was traveling South on the River Road when they lost control of the motor vehicle and rolled the car over into the ditch. Trooper Cotton located the operator, who had returned the scene and determined that she was intoxicated. Trooper Cotton charged the operator with Operating Under the Influence of Alcohol (Class D) as well as failing to report a crash by the quickest means (Class E) The operator of the car was treated for minor injuries resulting from the crash at Houlton Regional Hospital and booked into the Aroostook County Jail.
