PRESQUE ISLE — Global markets for Maine products will be the focus of the next business breakfast to be held at the University of Maine at Presque Isle in March.

“We are very excited to feature ‘Global Markets for Maine’s Food and Wood Products Sector’ as part of UMPI’s business breakfast series on Wednesday, March 6, from 7:30-9 a.m.,” said Wade Merritt, vice president, Maine International Trade Center.

The breakfast will take place in the Campus Center’s St. John and Aroostook Room.

“This program will focus on the $1.4 million of export sales that the Maine forest and agricultural sectors represent, an overview on international market trends, as well as Maine’s overseas initiatives of the past year and going forward,” said Merritt.

Merritt said the program will conclude with optional break-out sessions on locally-managed grant opportunities from the Small Business Association (SBA), Softwood Export Council and FoodExportUSA for Maine’s wood products and food companies.

The registration fee is $15 for MITC members and non-members, with a deadline of March 4. To register or for more information on the program, visit www.mitc.com/programs/details.asp?ProgramID=88.
