CARIBOU, Maine — County residents will have an opportunity to take in the sights of northern Maine’s fall foliage from the sky 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at Caribou Municipal Airport.
The 15-minute flight will take guests on a round trip to the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone.
Price of admission for children 8 years old and younger is $10 and $20 for passengers 9 years old and up. Children under 5 need to meet minimum weight and height requirements and be accompanied by an adult.
The event will feature a “watermelon 50/50 raffle drop” in which participants will have a chip placed in a watermelon dropped from 30 feet in the air. The participant whose chip lands closest to the target will win a prize. The first 50 participants to attend will receive a scaled wheel chock.
The city has indicated that “participating pilots will make the final determination on passenger minimum and maximum requirements.”
In the event of rain, flights will be rescheduled to Oct. 6.
