HOULTON, Maine — The Salvation Army will continue their 150-year tradition of assistance to families throughout the year and at Christmas.
Those who live in the Houlton Area and are in need of assistance may visit the Salvation Army to see if they qualify. Bring an I.D. for each member of the family (birth certificate or Medicare or Maine Care card), proof of residence, income and expenses.
Applications are available now. Interviews began on Monday, Oct. 21, and will continue from 9 a.m. to 12 noon and from 1 to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 through Friday, Oct. 25.
Due to limited staff and resources no applications will be accepted after Oct. 25 without evidence of an emergency.
Supporters wishing to help those in need can call for a Star/Angel Tree information packet.
Volunteer bell ringers are also desired starting Nov. 21 through Dec. 24. For more information call The Salvation Army at 207-532-2322.
