CARIBOU, Maine — A brand new Dunkin’ franchise recently opened in Caribou, and the city plans to hold a ribbon cutting at the Bennett Drive restaurant on Nov. 23 at 10 a.m.
The building is among the first in the state to feature the new Dunkin’ rebrand from its original Dunkin’ Donuts and features signature cold beverages poured through a tap system which serves iced coffee, iced tea, cold brew and a nitro-infused cold brew.
PGR Construction of Rehoboth, Massachusetts, along with local contractor Soderberg Construction, broke ground on the project during the summer, and city officials began discussing the project in mid- to late 2018.
The new store, according to Dunkin’ officials, could employ roughly “25 to 30” individuals. The Caribou Dunkin’ officially held their “soft opening” on Nov. 7, according to Caribou Zoning Administrator Ken Murchison.
“The store did a soft opening last week and things are running smoothly,” said Caribou City Manager Dennis Marker. “We’re excited for them. They started in a convenience store as a small franchise but grew and needed their own space. Helping small businesses grow and mature is what Caribou strives for.”
