Members of the Presque Isle High School girls’ basketball team were recognized during City Council’s April 1 meeting for winning the 2013 State Championship.
Council Chair Emily Smith noted in making the presentation they were the Class B champs two years in a row — a very commendable achievement — winning over 40 games in a row over a two-year period. “They stole the hearts of all in Presque Isle; they’re simply amazing,” said Smith. “We appreciate your heart and determination.” Certificates were presented to each member in recognition of their achievement. Present for the honor were, in front from left: Liza Buck, Chandler Guerrette, Taylor William, Megan Ireland, Kayla Girardin, Manager Mikayla Albert and Manager Kali Warner. Back row: Coach Jeff Hudson, Assistant Coach Tim McCue, Laurin Ackerson, Meredith Stewart, Karlee Bernier, Manager Kate McKenna, Regan Nelson, Krystal Kingsbury, Hannah Graham and Assistant Coach Ralph Michaud.
