CARIBOU, Maine — Greg Tardie, son of the late Wilmer and Doris Tardie of Caribou, received a 2019 Josie Music Awards Song of the Year (Holiday) nomination for his song “A Soldier’s Christmas.”
The annual Josie Music Awards is part of the Josie Network LLC brand, which is owned by Josie Passantino and Tinamarie Passantino. The awards spotlight independent artists in genres ranging from blues to rap to metal to country. Overall, there were 23,000 suggestions for the Josie Music Awards nominations, which is the world’s largest awards show to celebrate independent artists.
The awards ceremony was held in September in Dollywood’s Celebrity Theater in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee.
Tardie also received three 2019 American Songwriting Awards Nominations for “Twitter ID” (spiritual), “Wanna’ Be Gibbs” (country), “Somedays for the Somethings” (Unsigned Songwriter/Artist). In March 2019, his song “Beaten Jack and Blue” was recorded by multi-award winning artist Lonnie Spiker on his album “5ive”.
Another song, “Trail of Tears,” has been recorded as the title track of a yet unreleased album by another award-winning performer, Lucas Ciliberti. Ciliberti’s new album is expected to feature multiple songs written by Tardie.
