PRESQUE ISLE and HOULTON — Northern Maine Community College will host college info nights in Presque Isle and Houlton. The sessions are designed to inform area residents interested in learning about their options for higher education and training offered by the college in each of the regions.
The NMCC Presque Isle campus will host an info night on Tuesday, Dec. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Akeley Student Center. As an incentive, NMCC will waive the course registration fee for those who attend and sign-up for a course.
The Houlton area Info Night will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Houlton Higher Education Center. Participants who sign up for a course will receive a course registration fee waiver.
College officials will be on hand at each site to share information with anyone interested in learning more about the College and the variety of courses, certificates, and associate degree programs offered through NMCC. Individuals are welcome to stop in at any time to speak with a NMCC representative.
“Info nights are designed to answer questions that someone might have about the college,” said William Egeler, NMCC dean of students. “If you are unsure of either beginning or returning to college, an Info Night session may be the first step to making that important decision.”
In addition to information on courses offered at the college, info night attendees will be able to learn more about financial aid available to many students. The Maine Community College System offers a tuition rate of $94 per credit hour.
