    EASTON — John R. Blodget, 78, passed away Monday morning, April 22, 2013, at The Aroostook Healthcare Center in Mars Hill. He was born September 3, 1934, in Castine, ME, the son of George and Hazel (Mitchell) Blodget.
    John graduated from Bucksport High School in 1953 and retired after 29 years from the University of Maine in Presque Isle. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
    John is survived by his wife, Electra (Buckingham) Blodget of Easton; a son, Bruce Blodget and his wife, Becky of Easton; a daughter, Melanie Blodget of Easton; and a brother, Benjamin Blodget and his wife, Jeanette of Bucksport, ME; five grandchildren, Mitchell Blodget, Matthew Blodget, Brittanee Blodget, Riley Mazerolle and Carter Mazerolle; and ,several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
    Friends may call Friday, April 26, 2013, at 1 p.m., until the time of service at 2 p.m., at Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church St., Presque Isle, with Rev. Larry Sullivan officiating. Interment will be later in the spring at Estes Park Cemetery, Easton. Donations may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew St., Springfield, MA 01104.
