Library invites shoppers to book sale

WASHBURN, Maine — The Washburn Memorial Library invites the community to browse for the perfect holiday gift at their book sale.

Participants can visit an entire table filled with Christmas stories for every age, along with hardcover and large- print books, children’s picture books, learning-to-read books, board books, middle school and teen selections and both hardcover and paperback fiction for adults in every genre. The cost is by donation; the library is raising funds to create a new toddler section.

“Remember, a book is very easy to wrap, it is never the wrong color or size, and it can be enjoyed again and again,” said the library’s Londa Brown.

All are welcome to visit the store downstairs during regular hours, and on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. Parking is behind the library and visitors should use the back door.

The library’s new hours are Tuesday from 1 to 7 p.m.; Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
