THURSDAY, June 21, saw several owners and their pets gathered for graduation from dog obedience class, including, from left: Beth Gilmer with Riley, who took third place; Bonnie Wood with Sunnyside Northwoods Daisy Mae who took second place and received her CGC title; Margaret McPherson with Harry; Anja Whittington with Koby, who took first place in the agility fun run; Cynthia Thibodeau with Duncan, who took first place; Lisa Martin with Lilly; Carrie Winslow with Prancer; and Gerald McEntee with Nicketa.

Students and their dogs were schooled on basic obedience and the 10 steps to complete their Canine Good Citizens (CGC) testing which was held after graduation.     The 10 steps to becoming a CGC are: accepting a friendly stranger, sitting politely for petting, appearance and grooming, out for a walk (walking on a loose leash), walking through a crowd, ‘sit’ and ‘down’ on command/staying in place, coming when called, reaction to another dog, reaction to distractions and supervised separation. Classes graduated June 19 and 21.
