PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — On Tuesday, the Houlton-based Aroostook Milling Company announced that it would be closing its Presque Isle location at 191 Parson Street, effective immediately.
In a Facebook post, the company announced it would be closing the store at the end of the day. It thanked the Presque Isle community for their “support” the past four years.
The post said that all Aroostook Milling Company products would be available at Haney’s Building Specialities in Caribou beginning on Wednesday.
An employee at the company’s Houlton location, which has existed since 1948, said there were no plans to close that facility.
The company manufactures and sells a number of agricultural and pet supplies, including various feeds, landscaping tools, coal and wood pellets.
Mark Crane, a manager at the Presque Isle location, declined to give a reason for the closure until Wednesday morning.
