Elite Bowling Alley opening Saturday — An addition to local recreation facilities comes with the opening of Nelson Solman’s new Elite Bowling Alley on Sweden Street. The new building also houses a restaurant, soon to open also.
50 Years Ago – March 18, 1970
Local men filming picture — Whitcomb Shaw of Caribou is the producer of a feature-length moving picture show, “Fall Line,” for which a complement of 15 New York and Hollywood players and staff is shooting scenes in the Caribou area. Shaw said Monday that the production is a winter drama featuring snow sledding and skiing.

Band trip — In the discussion on the high school band trip, Rick Williams, representing the Caribou Band Parents Association, said the band wants to attend the Festival of Nations April 7-9 in Washington. Students, parents and the community have raised almost $14,000 toward the $32,000 needed for the trip.
