OTIS, Reginal “Reg” Erlon, 72, BLAINE, June 19, 2013. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, June 27, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Mars Hill. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill.

BLAINE – Reginal “Reg” Erlon Otis, 72, passed away early in the morning on June 19, 2013, the husband of Mary (Owens) Otis and the owner of Otis’ Junk Yard. Reg was born on September 20, 1940, in Norridgewock, ME, the son of the late Donald and Cassie (McEachern) Otis of East Millinocket, ME.  American Flag Color
    Reg went to school in Madison, ME, and then joined the Navy in 1958, where he served proudly for eight years before serving in the U.S. Air Force for 12 years. After retiring from the service, Reg worked for SAD 42 for 18 years as a bus driver and janitor, retiring from there to work full-time in his junk yard.
    Reg is survived by his wife, Mary (Owens) Otis of Blaine; two sons, Joseph and his wife, Linda of Stafford, VA, and Timothy and his wife, Paula of Mars Hill, ME; a daughter, Tammy Barnett and her husband, William of Abilene, TX; brothers, Ronald and his wife, Janet of Medway, ME, Frederick of Westbrook, ME and Donald Otis of Portland, ME; sisters, Ann of Anson, ME, Shirley Baker of Buxton, ME, and Margaret (Jean) Lee and her husband, Emery of Medway, ME; 11 grandchildren who were all so special to him, Leroy and his wife, Kim stationed at Fort Knox, KY, JoLynne Flanary and her husband, Walter of Stafford, VA, Candace Otis stationed at Shaw AFB, SC, Cheryl Scifers and her husband, Johnny of Abilene, TX, Cody Webster of Elk Horn, IA, Amanda Moore and her husband, Thomas of Abilene, TX, Mary Beth Guynn of Jeannette, PA, Denise Otis of Stafford, VA, Jordon Barnett stationed at Goodfellow AFB, TX, Taylor Otis stationed in Fort Drum, NY, and Reba Otis of Mars Hill, ME. Reg was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren.
    In addition to his parents, Reg was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Allen and Richard; and sisters, Kathleen and Francis.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood, Main Street, Mars Hill, with the Very Reverend Jean Paul LaBrie officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church reception room. Donations may be made in his memory to the Catholic Women of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
