DANFORTH, Maine — An alum of East Grand High School has returned to his roots to open his first automotive repair business.
A graduate of the Class of 2012, Nick Morse opened Nick’s Auto April 27 in a spot behind the popular Millyard Restaurant and gas station at 162 Houlton Road.
Morse spent three years in the Region Two Career and Technical Education program while in high school. Upon graduating, he attended Universal Technical Institute in Norwood, Massachusetts.
“I’ve been working as a full-time mechanic since March of 2014, when I started for Dysart’s in Hermon as a diesel mechanic,” Morse said. “I then went on to work for Robin Crawford and Son Logging [of Lincoln] as an automotive/diesel mechanic for two years. In the fall of 2017, I went to work for Cary Brown Excavation as an automotive/diesel mechanic.”
But when an opportunity arose to return to the Danforth area, Morse said it was one he could not pass up.
“I’ve always wanted to run a garage of my own and the area didn’t have anywhere to go after Kinney’s garage closed,” Morse said. “It has been a very busy, and good start to business.”
Morse offers a full service of automotive needs, with anything from oil changes and basic maintenance to diagnostic/trouble shooting, body work, motor and transmission work. He is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
