ULTIMATE ATV EVENT — Dick Howlett, president of the Star City ATV Club, leads a procession of about 70 ATVs north on Main Street in Presque Isle on Saturday, July 13, as part of the club-sponsored Ultimate ATV Event. Riders gathered at the SCATV clubhouse at Arnold Brook Lake, then headed to the trail adjacent to the Aroostook River — with a Presque Isle police escort as they traveled Route 1. Enthusiasts from Maine and throughout New England enjoyed perfect weather for the annual event, which featured 100-plus mile rides throughout Aroostook County, cookouts and a poker run. Josh Addington, a member of the Washburn ATV Club, took first place in the poker run, with Ken Spittle placing second and Rodney South taking third. Linda Burlock won the 50/50 drawing. The club would like to thank all who made this year’s event a huge success.
