HOULTON, Maine — Katie Hill, incoming Rotary president for 2020-2021, announced June 15 that the club is now accepting project funding requests for the upcoming year.
The request should include a short explanation of the group’s project, the amount requested, and for whom the project will benefit. All requests should be submitted prior to July 6. Interested groups must mail requests to Houlton Rotary Club, P.O. Box 425, Houlton, Maine 04730 ATTN: Katie Hill, or email them to info@houltonrotary.org.
“Our goal this year, as in the past, is to donate money to local projects and to benefit local organizations, funded by the Rotary Auction, E-Waste, and other Rotary fundraisers,” Hill said.
Past projects have included the Just for Kids Playground, Houlton Riverfront Project, Northern Maine Soap Box Derby, Houlton Amphitheater, Cary Library, Houlton Elementary School Basketball Court, Putnam House: A Center for Seniors, Temple Cinema free matinee, The Salvation Army utility trailer, Houlton Area Little League, Adopt-a-Block of Aroostook, Houlton Area Backpacks for Kids, Aid for Kids, McGill’s Community Band, and many more.
