PRESQUE ISLE — Mojo Outdoor Sports is on the move.
The Presque Isle business, which sells apparel and equipment needed to be active in the outdoors, has moved from 719 Main St. to its new location at 30 North St.
“We needed to lower our overhead, and we wanted a smaller footprint,” said office manager Heather Fullen, who co-owns the business with her husband, Mark. “We have been very carefully monitoring our inventory and listening to the customers and finding out what they want in stock, and in doing that, we saw that we didn’t need as much space as we had.
“Everything but the location is the same. We’re going to continue to offer all the same lines, and we’re actually expanding our winter apparel offering to meet customers’ requests,” she said. “The hard goods, or the equipment, are going to stay the same. We’ve got great brands that we trust and that people have come to expect from us, so it’s just going to be in a more compact package.”
Fullen said there are several benefits to being in the new location.
“[The move] put us right near the bike path which spills out a few driveways up,” she said. “When we were on Main Street, people always commented that it was difficult turning in and out of the store, but with our new location, it’s more accessible to people.
“Also, there’s also good visibility, plus you’ve got LiveWell United across the street, as well as the physicians who promote health and wellness, and County Physical Therapy’s right here, too,” said Fullen. “We’ve kicked around the term that it’s ‘Fitness Row,’ and we’re happy to be a part of it. This was our chance to start fresh and put our own stamp on the business.”
The 30 North St. location had originally been Jim’s Automotive, and more recently North Street Auto and Jackson Power Sports.
Mojo Outdoor Sports was closed July 28-30 to accommodate the move. For more information, call 760-9500.
