Just Folk Singers to perform Sunday

The Just Folk Singers will be presenting a concert Sunday, Aug. 4 at 2 p.m. This performance will be held in the Ashland District School auditorium. The singing group was first formed in the 1960s, and since 2005 has been involved in many concerts.
The audience can expect a wide variety of musical styles that everyone can enjoy. The Just Folk Singers are sponsored by the Ashland Alumni Association, which will be serving strawberry shortcakes during intermission. Donations will be accepted and appreciated.
Portage Lake Association to host potluck dinner
The Portage Lake Association will be hosting its annual community potluck dinner at the Town Hall Friday, Aug. 9 beginning at 5 p.m. All residents are invited and welcome to come. A short business meeting will be held after dinner, with entertainment by Larry Jenkins of Fort Fairfield following the meeting. What an enjoyable way to spend a Friday night in town! Bring a covered dish to share and join in the fun.
