LUDLOW, Maine — A Ludlow man was taken to the hospital following a single vehicle crash in town on Saturday.

Christopher R. Drew, 42, was southbound on Hemore Road in a 1999 Ford Ranger pickup shortly before 3 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle. The Ranger crossed the roadway, went into a ditch and struck a tree.

A nearby resident heard the crash, went to the scene and called 911.

Houlton Ambulance took Drew to Houlton Regional Hospital for treatment of serious injuries to his head, face and neck.

Drew was not wearing a seatbelt and police believe impairment was a factor in the crash.

Maine State Police continue to investigate the accident with charges pending.
