CURRIE, Herschel O., 72, WASHBURN, at Mars Hill, August 16, 2013. As to his wishes, there will be only a private family service.

WASHBURN – Herschel O. Currie, 72, passed away August 16, 2013, in Mars Hill, surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
    Herschel leaves behind his significant other, Elida Fredericks; his loving mother, Viola; his brother, Sherman and wife, Susan; his two sisters Martina and husband, Frank (Biff) Sharp, Marion and husband, Bernard Michaud; his son, Neal and wife, Vickie; as well as a large number of relatives and friends.
    Herschel served honorably in the U.S. Army as a member of the Special Forces. He was a teacher, a carpenter and retired from the C.P. Rail. Herschel was a content man with a chainsaw in one hand, a fishing pole in the other. He spent his life walking his own road only stopping to help family and friends.
    A special thanks to Frank Sharp who helped him to walk with God these last few months. Brother, Son, Father, Friend. No more pain. Just Love. As to his wishes, there will be only a private family service.
