FORT FAIRFIELD — Coach Kerrie Alley is in her eighth year with the Tigers and, along with assistant coaches Tim Watt and Tom Towle, is looking forward to coaching a veteran soccer team this season.
While the starting lineup will rotate throughout the season, the roster includes plenty of seniors ready to lead the way.
“Our team will be led by [seniors] Logan Bubar, Abbey Player, Janaè Libby, Nicole Giberson, Alyssa Dougherty and Lindsay Blaisdell,” Alley said. “Logan and Janaè will lead our team offensively while Nicole and Abbey will lead our team defensively. Alyssa and Lindsay are key utility players that will give us minutes in all three lines along with sophomore Morgann Towle.”
The midfield will be led by both Bubar and Alexis Coiley with juniors Sarah Owens, Shyla Bouchard and Toni Libby and sophomores Teresa Maynard and Taylor Churchill also being key contributors.
Making up the front line this season along with Libby will be junior Kalena Pearce and Kailanny Hernandez.
Splitting time in goal for the Tigers will be Sarah Watt and Megan Jellison, who Alley says “work hard each day to keep us in each game.”
Others on defense include sophomores Kayla Giberson and Autumn Parady and freshmen Gabby Wortman, Sarah Beaulieu and Sydney McShea.
Alley sees this year’s strengths as the camaraderie the girls share and the fact that they are “focused on playing together and encouraging each other to improve their knowledge of the game.”
Their gameplan for this year is to work hard every day in practice, stay positive on and off the field and give their best effort every game.
