WASHBURN, Maine — Principal Larry Worcester, along with the staff of Washburn District High School, have announced Ryan Cole as Student of the Month for August.
Cole is a junior at WDHS and the son of Matthew and Joanna Cole. He is an active member of the school’s FFA.
“Ryan is a polite and respectful young man. He works very hard and his schoolwork is done to a high standard. He is always willing to lend a hand to his teachers or other students when needed and goes above and beyond when asked,” said teacher Mrs. Hemphill.
Cole recently donated time after school to help the principal with a project on the school’s athletic fields.
He also was instrumental in arranging and helping to erect the tents to provide teachers the option to teach outside as well as an option for students to eat lunch outside.
