CARIBOU, Maine — An outage at roughly 3:30 p.m. left more than 10,000 in Aroostook County without power on Dec. 21.
As of 3:55 p.m., 2,389 customers in Fort Kent were without power, representing more than 98 percent of the town’s customers. Additionally the outage has affected 1,943 in Madawaska, 785 in Caribou, 746 in Eagle Lake and 620 in Frenchville.
Altogether, 10,767 in Aroostook have been affected.
The cause of the outage is still under investigation, according to Versant Power. The estimated restoration time for towns is between 4:30 and 5 p.m. today.
