PRESQUE ISLE — A local man is facing multiple charges, after officials with Crown Ambulance informed the Presque Isle Police Department

that a “large amount of narcotics” was missing from their inventory, according to a report in the police log dated Sept. 15.
The PIPD was contacted around 7:37 p.m. with the caller reporting the theft of drugs from flight bags and requesting an officer respond. Sgt. Mark Barnes and Officer Joey Seeley, both of the PIPD, were assigned to investigate.
Police met with Crown officials who explained that “all of the narcotics were missing from both bags.” They reportedly told police a subject identified as Adam Michaud, 31, of Presque Isle — a Crown employee — was “seen in the ambulance base earlier, handling the flight bags,” but that Michaud was on “administrative leave for a pending case.”
Police later found Michaud at his residence, where he was subsequently arrested. A bail search of his apartment yielded the stolen drugs (empty vials) connected to the current theft complaint.
“Adam Michaud has been charged with stealing drugs, possession of scheduled drugs and violation of conditions of release,” said Deputy Chief Laurie Kelly, of the PIPD.
Michaud wasn’t allowed bail and was transported to the Caribou Police Department where he was held until his first court appearance. Michaud was given a Nov. 19 Caribou Superior Court date. No additional information was available at presstime.
