    FLORIST RECOGNIZED — On Sunday, Sept. 8, in Orono, at the Maine Florists’ Association Fall Convention, Amy Murphy, of Cook Florist of Presque Isle, won the 2013 Maine Floral Designer of the Year. This is the fourth time she has won this prestigious award. This competition is based on the principles and elements of floral design. Amy was also asked to work as the assistant floral designer to the featured designer of the show, Alex Jackson, of the American Institute of Floral Designers, from Phoenix, Ariz. — pictured here with Amy.
