CURRIER, Tyrone R., 66, HERMON & PRESQUE ISLE, September 29, 2013. A graveside service will be held with Military Honors, noon, Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou. A service of Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor.
HERMON & PRESQUE ISLE – Tyrone R. Currier, 66, loving husband of Jan Currier, passed into God’s loving arms on September 29, 2013, at his home. He was born July 2, 1947, in Presque Isle, the son of Holman E. and Viola D. (Perkins) Currier.
Ty graduated from Presque Isle High School, Class of 1966. Ty proudly served in the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army, with one year in Vietnam. He worked for Maine Public Service Company for 35 years as a lead worker. Ty was a member of Masonic Pioneer Lodge # 72 A.F.&A.M. of Ashland, and he was a Leader with Boy Scout Troop 271, in Presque Isle. Ty was an accomplished carpenter and enjoyed building homes. Recently, he enjoyed making and flying remote control airplanes.
Ty is survived by his wife of 45 years, Janis (Adams) Currier; a daughter, Lynn Ingalls and her husband, Ron, and their children, Rachel, Thomas and Isabella; a son, David Currier and his wife Elizabeth; a sister, Gloria McLean and her husband, Jack; a brother, Lee Currier and his wife, Vaunne; and special cousin “forever brother”, Mickey Perkins and his wife, Nancy. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, Elwood Currier and William Currier.
A graveside service will be held with Military Honors, noon, Tuesday, October 8, 2013, at the Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Caribou.
