CARIBOU, Maine — Caribou City Council formally recognized outgoing Caribou police Officer Bob Worley’s retirement after 28 years of service to the city during a March 8 meeting.

Caribou Police Chief Michael Gahagan attended the meeting via Zoom and said a few words about Worley’s service.

Before Worley joined the department in 1993, Gahagan said he joined the United States Air Force in 1977, where he served for approximately 15 years.

“Officer Worley faithfully showed up for work for the last 28 years, kept everyone safe day and night, and always did what was asked of him. We thank him for his dedication and service to our citizens and community. It is so much appreciated. Enjoy your retirement Bob,” Gahagan said.

Mayor Jody Smith and councilor Doug Morrell both thanked Worley for his service to the city, and all present in the council chambers applauded before the board moved onto the next agenda item.
