BLAINE, Maine — Firefighters from Mars Hill, Bridgewater and Easton braved negative wind chills Sunday night to extinguish a fire that broke out at a house along Robinson Road in Blaine.

The department had received a call at 1:47 a.m. Monday, and the three fire departments spent about four hours trying to extinguish the blaze, which resulted in a total loss for the property at 586 Robinson Road, according to Mars Hill Fire Chief Gerald Cousins.

The Central Aroostook Ambulance Service was at the scene, but according to Cousins, there were no injuries resulting from the fire. He also declined to give the name of the owner of the property.

It is unknown whether anyone was occupying the residence at the time of the fire.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Mars Hill firefighters returned to the fire scene after 9 a.m. when there were reports of smoke, but returned quickly back to the station.
