Sorority meets
PRESQUE ISLE — Maine Epsilon Master Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Oct. 17 at the home of Tammy Walton.
President Nancy Nichols called the business meeting to order and information was shared about the upcoming New England Beta Sigma Phi Convention, which will be held in Bangor June 20-22, 2014. The theme will be “Las Vegas.”
Member updates were shared and thank-you notes were read from the Red Cross and the New England Shriner’s Hospital, in appreciation of the chapter’s recent donations.
The service committee collected personal items to be donated to the Sister Mary O’Donnell Homeless Shelter.
It was voted upon to purchase a Thanksgiving food basket for a family in need. Many happy dollars were shared and refreshments were served by Sue Lougee, Ellen Helstrom and Iris Towle. The next meeting will be held Nov. 21 at 7 p.m. at the home of Pam Palm.
