Easton students take part in Junior Exhibition

Junior Exhibition was held at Easton Junior/Senior High School on Friday, Nov. 7. Thirteen members of the class spoke. The winner was Cody Embelton with his story of “The Three Little Pigs.” Kristen West came in second place, Kerrigan Arnett was third and Toria Tarbox placed fourth.
This is an extremely talented group of young men and women! Proceeds from the evening concessions went to the Casco Bay Exchange students who sold ice cream floats.

Supper to honor boys’ varsity soccer team
On Sunday, Nov. 24, from 5-7 p.m. there will be a supper honoring the boys’ soccer team for becoming the first Eastern Maine runners-up in soccer. Please bring a potluck dish to share and beverages; paper goods and utensils will be provided. For more information please call Melissa at 227-4093.
Christmas Craft Fair
There will be a craft fair held at the Easton Elementary School Gym/Cafeteria on Saturday, Dec. 7, from 8 a.m. to 3p.m. There are over 50 vendors from all over the County that have registered to attend. Items for sale include: primitive decor, homemade goods, Wildtree, candles, soap, hats, mittens, jewelry, photography, diaper cakes, wood burnings, bake potato bar and so much more. The vendor proceeds money will be donated to the Easton Food Pantry. For more information please call Melissa at 227-4093.
Science Center offers a holiday craft workshop
Don’t miss out on the fun event! Call today to book your reservation for this popular workshop. The Francis Malcolm Science Center supplies all of the materials needed to create your own personalized holiday crafts. The dates currently available are Monday, Nov. 25 from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Thursday, Dec. 5, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; Friday, Dec. 6, from 5:30-7:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Dec. 7, at 9 or 10:30 a.m. The prices are as follows: wreath or large centerpiece $12, swag or small centerpiece $5 and member pay is half price! EPCO Harvest Party cancelled
The Easton Parent Community Organization regrets to announce they have made the decision to not run the Harvest Party this year. Many conflicts arose with the incredible soccer season the EHS Bears played this year, and as we approach the holidays, calendars are no less busy. This event requires many helpers, who were not able to commit due to so many conflicts. They will offer an equally spectacular event later in the school year to celebrate reading! The group members apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Upcoming field trips
Tuesday, Nov. 26 — Let’s go Bowling. The bus will depart directly after school for the bowling alley in Presque Isle. Please be sure your child is wearing socks and knows his/her shoe size. The cost is $5; concessions will be open for snack items. Open to everyone but kids younger than first grade must be accompanied by an adult. Don’t forget a note for school.
Wednesday, Nov. 27 — Dinner and a Movie. We will be going to Braden Theatre and have McDonald’s for lunch. The cost is $5 (includes admission, popcorn and soda) for the movies, and lunch money. Concessions will be available at the theatre, but please remind your child to save enough funds for lunch. The bus will depart from the hall at 9:30 a.m. and return around 1 p.m.

THANKSGIVING — Dakota Day and Zachary Pelletier, pictured from left to right, are first graders from Easton Elementary School and they helped get their classroom ready Thanksgiving. They are also worked hard to learn their addition facts before “turkey day”!
Rec calendar of events
Wednesday, Nov. 20 — Sneakin’ in Science Class after school until 4:15 p.m. Pre-registration required!
Thursday, Nov. 21 — BOKWA class after school until 4:15 p.m. Pre-registration required!
Friday, Nov. 22 — Junior Activities from 9:30-11 a.m. at the Hall.
Adult Program with Area Agency on Aging. Topic will be “Winter Blues — Seasonal Defective Disorder.” Lunch will be served following the program for $3.
Monday, Nov. 25 — Adult Nutrition class starting at 11 a.m. in the Recreation Room at the Manor. The cost is $3. This week we’ll be making turkey fettuccine skillet.
After-school cooking for grades one an up at the Hall until 4:15 p.m.
Tuesday, Nov. 26 — Adult trip to the Science Center. The Science Center will have all the supplies on hand to make either a Christmas wreath or centerpiece. The cost will vary between $5-$12, depending on which item you choose. (Center-pieces are much easier on the hands!) Please meet at the Center at 10 a.m.
Field trip to the bowling alley in Presque Isle after school (early release); the bus departs from the elementary school at noon and will return by 2:30 p.m. to the Hall. The cost is $5 and concessions will be available.
Wednesday, Nov. 27 — Movie and McDonald’s field trip. The bus departs from the Hall at 9:30 a.m. and will return by 1 p.m. The cost is $5 and lunch money.
