A HUGE MAP OF ASIA

A HUGE MAP OF ASIA covered a section of the gymnasium floor at UMPI’s Gentile Hall earlier this fall, giving visitors an opportunity to view the layout of various countries, their mountain ranges, waterways and seaports. National Geographic makes such maps available for educational purposes yearly, to promote learning for all ages. Pictured from left are Piper and Sierra Galipeau and their mother, Christa Galipeau, UMPI Professor Dave Putnam, as well as Kelly Zuras and her sons, Holden and Everett Zuras.

A NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC map of Asia that was recently displayed at Gentile Hall at the University of Maine at Presque Isle attracted students from both public schools and those who are home-schooled, like David Abernathy, 9, of Presque Isle, who’s pictured here with his mom, Traci Stone. David said he enjoyed checking out the gigantic map and all the free learning materials he was given when he left.
