PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — David Bartlett, Presque Isle High School principal, has announced that Chris Condon will offer the keynote address at this year’s commencement.
The 2021 ceremony is set for Saturday, June 12, at 4 p.m. at the Dr. Gehrig T. Johnson Athletic Complex. A ticket is required.
Condon is a Presque Isle native, graduating with the class of 1986. Attending the University of Maine, he earned a BS degree in business with distinction. He then was awarded a graduate marketing assistantship at Bentley College, where he earned his MBA with high distinction.
Condon has spent all of his 30-year career in marketing and sales. For the past 15 years he was president of United Insurance.
He has been active professionally and in the communities in which he lived, serving as president of the Presque Isle Rotary Club, United Way of Aroostook and Maine Insurance Agents Association. He was also vice chairman of Aroostook Mental Health Services, membership secretary of the Presque Isle Snowmobile Club and is currently the treasurer and board chairman elect of the Maine State Chamber.
His favorite community memories were as coach of his daughter Rachel’s travel soccer team and assistant coach of his daughter Abby’s high school alpine ski team.
He resides in Yarmouth with his high school sweetheart where he enjoys hiking, mountain biking and learning to play hockey.
Bartlett said, “We are honored to have Mr. Condon as the keynote speaker at the Presque Isle High School Class of 2021 commencement. His connection to the Presque Isle community provides him with a unique perspective of our graduates. I am sure he will have a message that our students will benefit from.”
