Preseason hoop tourneys
slated in FF and Washburn
Basketball tryouts began Monday, but some local teams are already getting ready to play preseason games this weekend.
In Fort Fairfield, contests are slated to be held beginning at 3:30 p.m. Friday and again starting at 10 a.m. Saturday and running through the early evening. In addition to the host Tigers, a pair of Canadian schools will participate, along with the Van Buren and Easton girls and Presque Isle JV boys.
Washburn will host a girls’ round robin Saturday. Southern Aroostook, Houlton and Caribou are the other teams involved. Games begin at 10 a.m., with the final one set for 4:15 p.m.
Concessions will be available at both sites and there is an admission fee.
