HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Recreation Department is sponsoring a “Doubles Tennis Tournament” on Saturday, June 19, at the Houlton Community Tennis Courts.
All players, no matter their skill level, are encouraged to compete. The age range will be from youth going into grade 7 to adults. Teams of men, women, and mixed doubles will be accepted.
To register, call the Houlton Recreation Department at 532-1310. Leave your name, partner’s name, phone number, grade/age, and email. Registration is required by Wednesday, June 16.
The entrance fee for the tournament will be a can of tennis balls. Once the registrations are completed, a tournament bracket will be made up and emailed to participants.
“The Recreation Department is hoping to motivate individuals to play tennis this summer and is thrilled to be sponsoring this event,” said Marie Carmichael, recreation director.
