Fort woman, 19, dies from injuries
A 19-year-old Fort Fairfield woman who was injured last month in a head-on crash on U.S. Route 1A in Easton has died from her injuries, Maine State Police reported Saturday afternoon.
Abigail Ladner died Friday afternoon at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where she was flown after the Oct. 27 crash in Easton, state police said.
Ladner was southbound in a 2004 Honda sedan at about 4:25 p.m. on Oct. 27, when a northbound 2008 Toyota pickup, driven by 67-year-old Barry Belyea of Portland, partially crossed the centerline into her path, according to police.
The two vehicles collided head-on at the intersection of Route 1A and Lamoreau Road in Easton, said Maine State Police Lt. John Cote.
Belyea suffered minor injuries from the crash and was treated at The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle and released.
