Blaisdell speaks on senior program
PRESQUE ISLE — The Probus Club of Aroostook met at Northern Maine Community College’s Reed Commons Nov. 21 with 18 members present.
Carolyn Watson, program chairperson, introduced special speaker Kerri-Watson Blaisdell of the TAMC Senior Connection program, which is for older adults who want to learn, save money, stay informed and be healthy.
Blaisdell said program benefits include a 50-percent discount to Healthy Aging luncheons, a 10-percent discount at TAMC’s Gardenside Café, a certificate for a free first month of TAMC LifeSAFE, free health screenings, a quarterly newsletter and a free one-day pass to County Physical Therapy fitness centers,where senior discounts are also available.
She said the next Senior Connection meeting will be Tuesday, Dec. 17 at 10 a.m. at the A.R. Gould Memorial Hospital’s McCain’s Room. Meetings are also scheduled in Mars Hill and Fort Fairfield Dec. 19. Registered dieticians will lead the meeting, with the topic of a healthy holiday eating program. Snack samples will be provided.
Also at the Probus meeting, E. Gerald Gallagher gave the treasurer’s report, Pearl Carmichael delivered a reading entitled “Our Thanksgiving” and Lucille Hay gave her life history.
