LIMESTONE, Maine — The Maine School of Science and Mathematics Foundation has announced that Jeff Candura has been hired as its new director.
The foundation helps to ensure the long-term success of the school by enhancing course offerings, professional development, special projects, and providing financial aid to families.
Candura comes to the position with several decades of fundraising experience in secondary and higher education, health and human services and politics. He has previously worked with the Maine Democratic Party, Gould Academy and Tufts University.
“I couldn’t be more excited to join the MSSM Foundation. I have long admired the MSSM,” Candura said.
“Quite simply, the school is a gem and an extraordinary asset for the state of Maine. I look forward to working with students, faculty, staff, alumni and parents to help continue its tradition of excellence,” he added.
Candura lives with his wife, two children and dog in North Yarmouth. They spend as much time outside as possible, skiing uphill and down, hiking, paddling, mountain biking, and (sometimes) relaxing.
