The Washburn Civic Center has free coats and clothes for those in need. Please stop by and take a look.
If you have a used winter jacket in good condition that you would like to donate, please drop it off at the Civic Center. Thank you!
‘Food for Fines’ project
The Washburn Memorial Library is extending its “Food for Fines” project. We’re looking for those overdue items that you have tucked away because your fines would be so outrageous. Bring them back with some non-perishable food for the food bank and your fines will be waived.
New at the library include 30-plus large print books, Philippa Gregory’s “The White Queen,” the latest Stephanie Plum novel, the newest Sue Grafton novel, Karen Kingsbury’s “Fifteen Minutes,” Clive Cussler novels, and the movies “The Blind Side” and “The Help.”
Library hours are Monday from 1-7 p.m., and Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m.-4:30 p.m.
Reminder
Just a reminder that school is out until Jan. 2, so please watch for children playing while driving around Washburn!
