HOULTON, CARIBOU and FORT KENT, Maine — Approximately 130 employees of KeyBank in Maine pitched in on Tuesday, Sept. 14, for the 30th annual Neighbors Make the Difference Day, completing projects across the state.
In Aroostook County, bank crews helped out three area nonprofit organizations.
Houlton Branch Manager Devon Cote gathered a team who helped the Houlton Parks and Recreation Department. The team worked at 46 Randall Ave., painting an outdoor facility near the community park.

In Caribou, Branch Manager Kalli Cote coordinated a project with the Caribou Parks and Recreation Department to paint street fencing downtown near the post office on Sweden Street and streetlight posts on Herschel Street.

And in the St. John Valley, project coordinator McKenzie Roy, licensed relationship manager for the Fort Kent branch, led a team who did yard work at the Fort Kent Historical Society on Market Street.
Neighbors Make The Difference Day began in 1991, when a group of Alaska employees volunteered for service projects and dubbed the effort Neighbors Day. By 1993, the event had been extended across all of KeyBank’s markets. It is now the hallmark of the bank’s commitment to its neighborhoods.
In total, employees completed more than 600 community service projects across the bank’s 15-state footprint in a single afternoon.
